RETIREMENT PLANS

DEFERRED COMPENSATION (457)
Similar to a 401(K), this program allows you to save for retirement on a pre-tax basis. The City will match the first $10.00 you defer each pay period. You can enroll immediately upon employment. The program is administered by Nationwide Retirement Solutions. Allen Sheets is the representative and can be contacted at 865-215-2947.

PENSION PLAN
The Pension Board administers a pension system for City employees. Membership in the system is mandatory after six months of employment for permanent classified employees. In accordance with the City Charter, exempt employees who are appointed by the Mayor are not required to be members and must submit a declination of enrollment form to the Pension Office to avoid mandatory pension contributions. For more information please contact the Pension Office at 865-215-1442.
