TDOT SmartWay Traffic Cams in Knoxville

Parking is free in the City's Market Square, State Street and Locust Street garages, and on meters, from 6 p.m. weekdays and all day on weekends - - except for specific special events.

Parking is allowed on most residential streets and some collector arterial streets within the city of Knoxville. See Chapter 17 of the Knoxville City Code for parking and traffic regulations. Unless a parked vehicle violates one of the regulations in the City Code or is parked in a signed or yellow-curb No Parking Zone, it is legally parked on a city street.

Parking Meters in the downtown / old city area are enforced Monday-Friday from 8am to 6pm.

Parking Break Program
The Central Business Improvement District is offering discounted or free parking to those visiting the heart of Knoxville. The Downtown Knoxville Parking Break Program allows visitors to park in one of thousands of participating parking spaces in Downtown Knoxville for free or at a discounted price. Visitors can also ride the KAT buses into the heart of the city at a reduced price or ride the free trolley. Participating downtown merchants and businesses will provide parking validation or offer Parking Break tokens. Tokens are good for KAT bus rides into Downtown Knoxville or at participating parking locations.

Knoxville Civic Auditorium & Coliseum
Parking is available at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum facilities from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for only $20 a month. KAT's Blue Line Trolley service is available free of charge and will pick up every five minutes during peak hours (6-9 a.m. and 4-7 p.m.) and ten minute service during non-peak hours.

State Street & Locust Street
Parking is free at the city-owned State Street garage and at Locust Street garage after 6 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the weekend - - except for specific special events.

Market Square
Parking is free in the City's Market Square, State Street and Locust Street garages, and on meters, from 6 p.m. weekdays and all day on weekends - - except for specific special events.
