Any person not convicted of a felony, is a citizen of the United States, is a resident of Tennessee, and is at least 18 years old on or before the next election may register to vote.

There are several ways in which a person may register to vote in the state of Tennessee. You may register in person, by mail, or at one of the motor voter registration locations (County Clerk offices, Tennessee Highway Patrol offices, Health Department offices, Register of Deeds office, Human Service Department offices or Libraries). It is illegal to be registered in more than one county at a time. Mail forms are available at all area post offices, some banks and libraries.

The voter registration books close 30 days prior to the election so register to vote as soon as possible after moving to the city. The Knox County Election Commission handles voter registration in the city.
