A Cumberland Avenue Corridor Study, adopted by MPC on April 12, 2007 and by City Council on May 8, 2007, provides groundwork for the project. There are two components to the Project as outlined in the Corridor Study, 1) a Streetscape Plan, and 2) an Urban Design Plan. STREETSCAPE PLAN - CONCEPT DESIGNS The Streetscape Plan proposes a “road diet” for Cumberland reducing the street from four lanes to three lanes. The City will host a public meeting on April 19th, 2010 to review three concept designs for the street. URBAN DESIGN PLAN - FORM BASED CODE The Cumberland Avenue Corridor Plan, adopted in 2007, calls for a Form Based Code (FBC) to implement the recommendations of the Urban Design Plan. Below is a draft of the Cumberland Avenue FBC that has been extensively reviewed and edited by MPC and City staff. The draft was presented at a public meeting on Nov. 12, 2009 and there will be a public comment period as the document is being reviewed by an independent consultant.
