Instructor: Sandy Larson
This ten week class focuses on the fundamentals of ballet and tap, complete with barre and floor workout, stretching and combinations. Ballet will give the student grace and poise with tap instilling creativity and freedom of movement. The first session will focus on the themes of “Sleeping Beauty” and “Grease”, and the second session will be “ Swan Lake” and the Broadway musical “Hairspray”.

Ages 10+, Exploring Design in Two Dimensions

Instructor: Lesley Eaton
An introduction to 2-D design with an emphasis on shape and color. This class will explore the visual language of shape, color, and composition using simple cut paper projects. We will study design in many different contexts, including children’s books, to understand designs and use this knowledge to create engaging sophisticated 2-D works (drawing, collage, and painting).

Ages 10-Older, Home School Pottery Parents also welcome to attend!

Instructor: Elise Murphy
In this six-week class students will experience throwing on the potter’s wheel and hand building with clay. L earn the basics of how to wedge and center the clay , and hopefully ma ke an assortment of different shaped vessels such as cups, vases, and bowls to use and enjoy. A variety of food safe glazes will be available to choose from. All pieces will be fired to cone 6.

Featuring “Science in a Suitcase!” A comprehensive program for children ages 7-14 offering a hands on learning experience in the area of science. This program consists of three four-week long courses. L’jon has thirty-two years of teaching experience with M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a B.S. in Early Childhood Development .

Earth’s Water Cycle

Students will create a complete water cycle, observing and experiencing the unique properties of the “oldest resource” on earth. properties of the “oldest resource” on earth.

Rock Cycle

Each student will create models of the different types of rocks. Using various tools to observe the characteristics of the three major rock types, students will understand the process through which rocks are formed.

Imagine slime, coded paper, and magic tricks, only the coolest of science experiments can offer! Students will do each activity, reflect on the property and theories behind each experience, and learn the steps of the scientific method.

During this in-service day students will learn various paper arts such as origami, paper weaving, paper sculpture and more. When not making art projects the students will use a fitness hoop to get their hearts pumping and tone their core muscles. The class will finish with Yogalates mat work and stretching. Wear your sneakers and play clothes.

Ages 9-12, Mosaic Garden Stepping Stones and More!

Students will learn to make their own mosaic garden stepping stone. Using a 12” round cement base and cement, children will learn to cut glass and design their own unique patterns. These mosaic stones are perfect for a special place in a garden. Students will also make their own salt dough. The dough will be used to sculpt a variety of unique art pieces which will be painted in acrylics, embellished and sealed.

You no longer need to be intimidated by a blank canvas! Discover how to take your favorite photo of a subject or scene and turn it into a work of art. Students will learn everything from the basics of drawing and composition to painting technique style. Expect not only to finish a complete painting, but to have fun in the learning process. A 2 X 3 , floor cloth, use of brushes and acrylic paints are included in the class fee.

Ages 7-12, Hand building 101
Monday-Friday, July 26-30
9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, $85.00
Instructor: Cathy Maples & Elise Murphy
Students will make wind chimes in a variety of themes. Next, they will sculpt masks and wall pockets using brown speckled stoneware. Elise will guide students through the proper technique to coil, slab and sculpt their clay projects successfully. Come and experience the joy of clay!

Students pack your lunch and spend the day with us! Christmas is just around the corner, and this class is perfect for students wishing to make their own gifts for loved ones. Students will make, then wrap, five-unique gifts to give to Mom, Dad, grandparents or friends. “What we will be making is a surprise, so no questions please”. Encourage your children to share in the joy of giving from the heart!
